The reliability software tool used to analyze this study is Reliasoft's Xfmea Version 5.1.1. The WTs situated in high windy region have different kinds of modes of failure than the low wind region. The FMECA was carried out for Wind Turbine System (WTS) and its sub assemblies to check the design reliability of twenty numbers of 250 kW WTs, located in Muppandal, India, over the span of 15 years. The WTs have several failure modes which are correlated to each other because of the common failure mechanisms behind them. This paper presents the results for the Failure Modes Effects and criticality Analysis (FMECA) performed for the Wind turbines (WT) located in a high uncertain wind environment. Risk priority Number (RPN) is basically used to figure out which braking component is at the risk offailure and requires more surveillance. FMEA procedure is used in this paper to find out different failure modes, itseffects, causes, occurrence and different prevention ways for various components in a braking system of an All-terrain vehicle. An efficacious procedure of failure analysis is the Design Failure Mode and effect Analysis. This involves the prediction of the failure modes in the designing stage.

The purpose of this paper is to provide a resume and critical analysis of previous research that discussed the development and limitation of FMEA. Several studies criticized the FMEA limitation or weakness of using this method. FMEA also was suitable for assessing risk in information technology or systems aspect. The proper using of FMEA method is proven to reduce the cycle of warranty costs and will certainly cost less to prevent than to fix the problems that have already occurred.
